Under Idaho Code 19-850(2)(d), the PDC can provide scholarships to defending attorneys to attend a training program of their choice, and scholarships for non-attorney staff of defending attorneys to attend PDC sponsored trainings. These scholarships allow defending attorneys to increase their knowledge, improving the public defense system of Idaho, and assists attorneys in meeting the requirement of seven public defense related CLEs per year.

Defending attorneys on the PD Roster may attend any PDC hosted training for free. This does not apply to trainings where the PDC is only a partner. Scholarship funding is available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and scholarship receipts will normally be reimbursed once they have attended the training. Scholarship funding may assist with both the cost of the training as well as travel and lodging to the training.

Application forms may be returned by email or fax to the PDC’s Boise office, or may be given to your local regional coordinator. If you have any questions regarding the forms, scholarship opportunities, or upcoming trainings, please reach out to your local regional coordinator.
